With over 20 years of experience, Designer Brushworx specializes in decorative painting and interior design across Cape Town and Johannesburg. A talented team of offering custom paint finishes, from faux finishes to intricate hand-painted murals, and with a passion for creating personalized designs that elevate both residential and commercial spaces. Founder, Designer & Painter:  Fotini De Araujo

Fotini de Araujo graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1993. Shortly after graduation, Fotini undertook an apprenticeship as an artist & muralist to well-known interior designer and painter, Claire Bond and together, facilitated extensive courses from basic paint techniques to wood graining and tromp l’oeile, including creating decorative finishes on walls, and furniture. During this time Fotini also met and collaborated with well-respected English decorative painter, Charlotte Wright.

Five years later, Fotini spread her wings and Designer Brushworx was born. 22 years on, Fotini still has an ongoing love affair with paint & brushes. Projects have been completed as far afield as Zambia and Zanzibar.

Clients include  Seattle Coffee, Nandos, Tiger Brands, Monte Casino, City Lodge, Style Magazine, Top Billing, and Emerald Casino. Over the years, Designer Brushworx has worked with decorators such as Rita Collaro, Chelsea Manhattan and Tessa Proudfoot.

Designer Brushworx has become synonymous with decorative designs and inspired paint effects, and more recently colour consultations too!

As of January2021, Fotini has relocated to Cape Town, but collaborates with her team and Claire Bond in JHB.
